Setting your daily macro targets

To set your daily targets, go to the Insights tab and tap "Update Body Metrics". Enter your current age, weight, and height. Our algorithm will calculate your maintenance calories and recommend a macro split based on whether you want to lose weight, maintain, or build muscle.

Understanding the 24-Hour Blueprint

The Rolling 24-Hour Plan is your dynamic daily dashboard. Unlike static calendars, it updates in real-time based on the exact time of day you log meals, adjusting your remaining calorie budget to keep your metabolism steady.

Updating your weight and BMI profile

We recommend updating your weight once a week. Head to the Insights Dashboard, click "Update Body Metrics", and type in your new weight. The app will automatically recalculate your BMI and adjust your daily calorie goals instantly.

How to use the hydration tracker

Navigate to the Hydration tab. You can use the visual slider to log water, or use the "Quick Add" buttons (+250ml, +500ml, +1L). Consistency is key to processing calories effectively!

Lighting tips for the best food scans

For the most accurate AI scans, ensure your food is well-lit (natural daylight is best) and centered in the scanning circle. Avoid extreme shadows or taking photos in very dark restaurants if possible.

Manually adjusting AI calorie estimates

After you scan a meal, the AI provides an estimate. Before saving it to your diary, you can tap on any specific ingredient (e.g., "Tomato") to adjust the portion size or manually edit the calorie count if you know the exact amount.

What to do if a food isn't recognized

If the AI scanner cannot identify a complex mixture (like a dark stew), you can click the "Manual Entry" button at the bottom of the scan screen to type the food name and add the macros yourself.

How the 3-day free trial works

When you download the app, you get 3 full days to test the AI scanner and daily blueprints for free. If you do not cancel before the 3 days end, your App Store or Google Play account will automatically be charged for the premium subscription.

Where is my health data stored?

Smart Calorie Tracker is an offline-first app. Your health data, weight, and daily logs are stored strictly on your local device. We do not transmit or save your personal health data to our servers.

Why does the app need camera access?

Camera access is required strictly to use the AI Vision Scanner to take photos of your meals. Photos are processed temporarily to extract macronutrient data and are never secretly saved or uploaded to our servers.

App crashing or camera not loading

If the camera fails to load or the app crashes, please go to your phone's Settings, find Smart Calorie Tracker, and ensure Camera Permissions are toggled ON. If the issue persists, try restarting your phone.
